Fused Mullite is produced by electric furnace fusion of Bayer process calcined alumina with selected high purity silica. It is with needle-like alumina-silica grains with low carbon and impurity. Fused Mullite can be processed into different sizes as grains, powders and micro powders. Fused Mullite has low porosity, low conductivity with great thermal shock resistance, low thermal expansion and excellent creep resistance, which makes it widely used as refractory raw materials for glass, steel and ceramic industries.
